iOS and Android app development

We design and build mobile apps for iPhone and Android — from the first prototype to App Store and Google Play approval — and keep them fast, secure and up to date after launch.

Growbig100's app development service designs, builds and publishes mobile apps for iOS and Android. We handle product scoping, UX/UI design, development, backend and APIs, testing, App Store and Google Play submission, analytics and post-launch maintenance — so you get a working, approved app rather than just code.

Who is app development for?

  • Businesses adding a mobile channel — bookings, orders, loyalty, member areas or customer self-service.
  • Startups building an MVP that need a focused first version they can put in front of real users quickly.
  • Companies with an internal process on paper or spreadsheets — field teams, inspections, deliveries, staff scheduling.
  • Owners of an existing app that is slow, crashes, was rejected by Apple or Google, or hasn't been updated in years.
  • Teams that want AI inside their app — chat assistants, smart search, voice input, summaries or recommendations.

Native or cross-platform: which should you build?

There are two main ways to build an app for both iPhone and Android, and we recommend the one that fits your budget, timeline and features rather than a favourite technology.

Cross-platform (React Native / Flutter)Native (Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android)
CodebaseOne shared codebase for both platformsSeparate app for each platform
Cost and timeUsually lower — one team, one buildHigher — two builds to maintain
PerformanceVery good for most business appsBest for heavy graphics, audio, camera or complex animations
Device featuresMost features via pluginsFull, immediate access to every new OS feature
Best forMVPs, booking, e-commerce, content and business appsPlatform-specific apps, widgets, wearables, performance-critical apps

For most business apps, cross-platform is the better value. When an app depends on deep platform integration, we build natively. We also build native Apple-platform software ourselves: our product Clipboardly is a native Mac app.

What's included?

  • Product discovery: goals, users, core features and a realistic first version
  • UX flows, wireframes and UI design for iPhone and Android, plus a clickable prototype
  • App development in React Native, Flutter, Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin
  • Backend and APIs: user accounts, databases, admin dashboard, payments and integrations
  • Push notifications, in-app purchases and subscriptions where needed
  • AI features: chat assistants, voice input, smart search and content generation
  • Analytics and crash reporting (GA4/Firebase) so you see how the app is used
  • Testing on real devices, plus TestFlight and Google Play internal testing builds
  • App Store and Google Play submission: listings, screenshots, privacy details and review
  • Source code, accounts and documentation handed over to you

How does the app development process work?

  1. Discovery (1–2 weeks). We define who the app is for, what the first version must do and what can wait, and agree on success metrics.
  2. Design (2–3 weeks). User flows, wireframes and visual design, turned into a clickable prototype you can try on your phone.
  3. Build in sprints. Two-week sprints, each ending with a test build you can install, so you see progress throughout.
  4. Test and launch. Device testing, beta testing with real users, then store submission. We handle Apple and Google review feedback until the app is approved.
  5. Support and improve. Bug fixes, OS updates, analytics reviews and new features on a care plan.

A focused MVP typically takes 8–14 weeks from discovery to store launch. Larger apps with many integrations take longer; you get a timeline in the written plan before work starts.

What does Apple and Google review require?

Both stores review every app before it goes live. Apps are commonly rejected for crashes, broken links, incomplete features, missing privacy information, unclear purchase flows, or account sign-up without a way to delete the account. We design for these rules from the start: privacy labels and data-safety forms filled correctly, sign in with Apple where required, in-app account deletion, and payments that follow each store's policies. You publish under your own Apple Developer and Google Play developer accounts, so the app belongs to your business.

How do you keep an app fast and secure?

We keep the app lean, load data efficiently and test on older, mid-range devices — not just the newest phones. Data is sent over encrypted connections, sensitive information is stored in the device's secure keychain or keystore, and API keys and secrets stay on the server, never inside the app. Crash reporting and analytics show problems early so they're fixed before most users notice.

How is app development priced?

Apps are quoted as a fixed-price project based on the agreed scope — the number of screens, features, integrations and platforms — after discovery. Larger products can be split into phases, starting with an MVP. After launch, an optional monthly care plan covers hosting, monitoring, OS updates, bug fixes and small improvements. Apple and Google developer account fees and any third-party services are paid directly by you.

App development FAQs

Do you build for both iPhone and Android?

Yes. We build apps for iOS and Android, usually from one cross-platform codebase (React Native or Flutter), or as separate native apps in Swift and Kotlin when the project needs it.

How long does it take to build an app?

A focused first version (MVP) usually takes 8–14 weeks from discovery to App Store and Google Play launch. The exact timeline is in the written plan you receive before work starts.

Will you publish the app to the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We prepare the store listings, screenshots and privacy information, submit the app, and handle review feedback until it's approved. The app is published under your own developer accounts.

Who owns the app and the source code?

You do. The source code, design files, store listings and backend accounts are set up in your name or transferred to you at the end of the project.

Can you fix or update an existing app?

Yes. We start with a code and performance review, fix crashes and store-review problems, update the app for current iOS and Android versions, and then add new features.

Can you add AI features to an app?

Yes. We add chat assistants, voice input, smart search, summaries and recommendations, with AI calls made through a secure backend so keys never ship inside the app.

Do you maintain the app after launch?

Yes, through an optional monthly care plan covering monitoring, bug fixes, OS updates, store compliance changes and small improvements.

Have an app idea or an app that needs fixing?

Apply with a short description of your app. We verify your business, then send you a meeting invite to scope it.
